‘Nothing Surprises Me About Cole Palmer’ – Sancho Admits
Following his incredible season-opening performance, Jadon Sancho declared that “anything is possible” for Chelsea with Cole Palmer in the lineup.
With their 4-2 victory over Brighton on Saturday, Palmer made Premier League history by becoming the first player to score four goals in the first half of a match.
“When you have a player in your team like Cole Palmer, then anything is possible,” Sancho stated. Since our time together at [Manchester] City, I’ve known Cole for a very long time.
He’s always caught my attention, and I’ve always believed he had enormous potential as a player. Now at Chelsea, he’s demonstrating that.
“We see what he’s capable of each day in training, we see the quality he has and honestly, it’s no real surprise to me to see him score four goals.”
He could have actually scored five or six goals! He’s a really good player, so I’m sure he will be upset that he didn’t add to his total. It’s great to have a player like Cole by your side, and I’m glad to help.”
Sancho earned his third assist in three games since joining the team from Manchester United. He won the penalty that Palmer converted for his second goal and also set up the fourth. “I felt that [against Brighton] I got off to a slow start.”
“I’m glad I was able to help my teammates score goals in the last few games. I’m adjusting in nicely, and I just want to keep this momentum going and help my teammates.” maybe even score the opening goal—that would be wonderful!”
