Sonic X Producers Explain New Details Of The Game
The producer of Sonic X Shadow Generations described the Movie Pack DLC’s integration with the forthcoming game and its relationship to the third theatrical release.
For Shadow the Hedgehog, the year 2024 has been amazing. In addition to having a prominent role in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (voiced by Keanu Reeves), he will also get his own side story campaign in the revised Sonic X Shadow Generations, where he battles a variety of familiar enemies.
But when Sega announced that the two projects will be combining in some exclusive supplementary DLC, many fans were taken aback.
Sega and Sonic Team gave players a sneak peek at the Movie Pack DLC for Sonic X Shadow Generations at the September 2024 PlayStation State of Play event.
The DLC will be available for purchase only with the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, and it will be published roughly one week before Sonic the Hedgehog 3 launches.
With Keanu Reeves playing the same character as in the film, Shadow appears more like his cinematic counterpart in this DLC. Producer Shun Nakamura recently discussed the composition and content of the DLC.
Given how different the worlds of the games and movies are from one another, Nakamura stated in an interview that was published on the PlayStation Blog that the movie DLC was an unexpected surprise.
But because the game and movie were coming out at the same time, he thought it would be a good opportunity to include it.
Nakamura responded that the DLC is based on scenes and sparse information that Paramount provided rather than having a tale that is directly related to the movie when asked how the content was related to the movie.
Because Shadow mostly visits Tokyo in the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 trailer, this is the reason the level is situated there.
