Mavericks’ Luka Doncic to Miss Next Week’s Games with Calf Strain
The Dallas Mavericks announced on Wednesday that standout player Luka Doncic will miss at least one week of action because of a contusion in his left leg. Doncic, who was selected to the NBA’s first team the previous season, was hit during a practice and subsequently incurred an injury.
Doncic’s availability for the Mavs’ opening game of the regular season on October 24 against the San Antonio Spurs is unaffected, sources told ESPN. This week, the Mavs are in Las Vegas for their training camp.
They play the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Monday to start the preseason. During the Mavs’ preseason trip to Abu Dhabi and Madrid, Doncic also had to deal with a calf strain. He was well enough to play in the first game of the regular season.
