Clark Addresses Racism Carried Out By Fans
After completing her first professional season, WNBA rookie sensation Caitlin Clark has already made a significant effect on the league.
Clark is credited with bringing in a tonne of new fans in only a single year, which helped the league beat records for TV ratings and attendance.
Clark, though, is not fond of every new member of the league. After the Indiana Fever’s season-ending playoff loss to the Connecticut Sun on Friday, Clark was questioned about a statement issued by the WNBA denouncing “racist, derogatory or threatening comments” made toward players, coaches, and other league executives.
After Sun forward Alyssa Thomas accused Fever supporters of racism, the statement was released.
Anyone who follows the WNBA and makes disparaging remarks about players is condemned by Clark. “Those aren’t supporters.
“It’s trolls,” remarked Clark. “Nobody in our league should be facing any sort of racism, disrespectful or hurtful comments and threats.”
