Randle Expresses Shock, Appreciation After Unexpected Trade to Timberwolves

When Julius Randle discovered last weekend that he had been dealt by the New York Knicks to the Minnesota Timberwolves, he admitted he was taken aback.

After five seasons with the Knicks, Randle had established himself as an All-Star. Despite missing out on New York’s playoff run the previous season due to a shoulder injury, he was eager to try again this season.

However, Randle slept through the night and was energised about his newfound opportunity in Minnesota when he woke up on Saturday.

He expressed his excitement at joining a different title contender and hoped to contribute to the Wolves’ core group.

“Wherever you go, you want to feel that you are wanted. Here, I feel wanted,” Randle remarked on Thursday. “I’ve done a lot of amazing things on my own thus far in my career, but I want to take home a title.

This is the ideal time to take advantage of that. At a press conference, the Timberwolves presented Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and Keita Bates-Diop.

They also revealed the trade return that Minnesota received from New York in exchange for Karl-Anthony Towns, the franchise’s mainstay for the previous nine years, along with an additional first-round lottery pick.

With regard to the deal, Randle remarked, “It was a breath of fresh air.” “I can’t wait to support these men with everything I’ve learnt over the previous five years here.”
