DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures Launch Animation Slate with James Gunn’s New Film

When James Gunn revealed that one of the new projects had received a green light from the DC Studios, he was overjoyed.

Additionally, he affirmed that Warner Bros Pictures Animation would be working with them on it.

Gunn has been engaged with a number of DC Universe projects, including as The Brave and the Bold, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and Superman Legacy.

Following its approval, the co-chairman and CEO of DC Studios revealed the title of the newest film project they will be producing. The two sidekicks of Batman will be the main subject of this animated film.

The director revealed on X, previously Twitter, that Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, the two Robins in the Batman universe, will be the subjects of their upcoming animated picture.

“Over the moon excited to announce the newest DC Studios/Warner Bros Pictures Animation greenlit film for theatres, DYNAMIC DUO, the story of Robin… or should I say, Robins, as in Dick Grayson and Jason Todd,” Gunn tweeted.

“A blend of animation, puppetry, and computer-generated imagery, the first feature film from the innovative Swaybox was made with our colleagues at Matt Reeves’ 6th & Idaho. The story was written by the incredibly creative Matt Aldrich. This is unique.”

Fans excited about the initiative responded in droves to the announcement. When they saw the two versions of Robin on the big screen, they got really delighted. One person responded, “Robin is finally getting some love,” using the fire emoji.
